‘Smart Mobility’

Regionalmanagement Nordhessen heads international project

The Regionalmanagement Nordhessen has taken over the leadership of an international project in which seven project partners from five countries (Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Great Britain and Germany) are involved. The launch signal was given by the Secretary of State of Hessen for European Affairs, Mark Weinmeister, on Tuesday, 2/11/2014, in Brussels.

“We are very glad, that our professional expertise is also demanded on the European level. That enables us to initiate international contacts for our regional partners,” said Holger Schach, CEO of Regionalmanagement Nordhessen.

Within the EU-Project the main topics are measures and concepts for an optimized traffic as well as ’smart mobility’. Thereby, it is assumed that mobility projects are more successful if mobility, economic efficiency, quality of life, safety and customer satisfaction are all considered while planning. For this reason the partnership is will develop a method which can be adapted to other projects and countries. The project is supported until December 2015 with 3 Million Euro by the European Commission.
