The NISTO toolkit will be offered as an instrument for transport planners, policy makers, consultants and researchers to evaluate small-scale mobility projects. It will be available online through the NISTO website free of charge (registration will be required). The toolkit will offer the possibility to evaluate the sustainability of projects through a multi-criteria analysis (MCA) and appraise stakeholder preferences through the multi-actor multi-criteria analysis (MAMCA). Users will be assisted by the easy-to-use interface and step-by-step guidance. Reports on the evaluation of the NISTO demonstration projects will also be provided to offer real-life examples for the evaluation.
The software for the MCA and MAMCA modules is currently being developed at VUB following an initial testing at the NISTO toolkit development workshop in Boulogne-sur-Mèr on 9 June. The NISTO project partners tried the first version of the software and provided feedback for the further development in terms of usability. This first testing phase will be followed by additional tests during the summer months and September. On 17-18 September a training session will be organised in Brussels for the NISTO partners to present the final version of the toolkit and provide training on its application. Then the toolkit will be presented to stakeholders at the regional workshops in October and November. The official launch is planned at the NISTO final conference on 16 November.
