The aim was to collect the generic weights for the assessment of sustainibility multi-criteria analysis/MCA) that will be used for the evaluation of the sustainability for all demonstration projects.
Stakeholders from governments at all levels (local, regional, national) involved in planing and/or policy-making for sustainable mobility/transport projects at the urban and regional levels have been identified as target group. Moreover, they should have a general overview on transport policy and should not represent just one branch of transport development (e.g. road construction, railways, public transport provision) in order to avoid skewing the weights towards any of the transport modes.
Stakeholders were asked to weight the core NISTO criteria under each pillar of sustainability (economy, environment, society). It was assumed that the three pillars have equal weight based on the definition of sustainability. The weighting was carried out within each pillar separately. Stakeholders indicated for each group of criteria how important they find them to achieve sustainable mobility at the local and regional levels.
